Product Description

This yellow and grey checkered Pashmina stole blends traditional craftsmanship with a modern touch. The bold yet balanced pattern of large checks gives it a versatile charm, making it equally suited for formal occasions and everyday wear. Each thread is handspun and handwoven by Kashmiri artisans, preserving the raw beauty and texture that only true craftsmanship can achieve.
Lightweight, breathable, and soft against the skin, this stole is ideal for year-round use. Whether draped over a dress on a crisp morning or layered with winter ensembles, it captures the quiet luxury and authenticity that define pure Pashmina.

About the Craft

The creation of a Pashmina stole is a journey of patience and devotion. It begins in Ladakh, where the fine down fibre of the Changthangi goat is carefully collected, cleaned, and sorted. The fibre is then hand spun by women artisans a process so delicate that it takes nearly two months to produce enough yarn for one stole. Each artisan spins just a handful of fibre each day, often working up to 10 hours.
The spun yarn is then woven by hand on traditional wooden looms, where skilled craftsmen bring the fabric to life with intricate precision. After weaving, specialists handle the final stages such as dyeing or finishing. Every step reflects a legacy of artistry and sustainability, passed down through generations of Kashmiri weavers.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the best results. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild Pashmina or Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press to remove excess water. Lay flat between two towels, roll to absorb moisture, and air dry away from sunlight.
Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place wrapped in muslin cloth with neem or cedar wood. With proper care, it will remain soft, beautiful, and timeless for years to come.

Before You Receive Your Pashmina

Each Pashmsutra stole is handcrafted with care, making every piece unique. Subtle irregularities in weave or tone are natural and reflect the authenticity of handmade work.
Slight colour variations may occur due to screen settings. While every effort is made to present shades accurately, the actual tone may appear slightly different in person.

G.I. Certified Handspun Pashmina: Why It Is More Expensive than Regular Pure Pashmina

Pashmina has for long been cherished and celebrated as the pinnacle of luxury. It is a fabric, so fine, warm and timeless that even the highest of royalty adorned it for centuries. But among all the forms nature blesses our wardrobes with, Handspun Pashmina stands apart as the purest, most authentic. Before modern machinery took over, the threads were spun exclusively with bare hands, slowly, delicately, with a deep emotional connection between the artisans and the fibre. Today, just a small percentage of artisans follow this ancient method, making handspun pieces incredibly rare and precious. Yet there are a few dealers of handspun shawls, like Pashmsutra, which sells 100% pure, hand spun shawls online......
