Product Description
Owning this stole is like owning a work of art — only this one drapes softly around your shoulders. Blending heritage craftsmanship with timeless elegance, the stole features beige and ivory stripes paired with a beautifully hand-painted bird motif, symbolising the arrival of spring after winter.
Perched delicately on the Pashmina base, the bird adds a contemporary charm while keeping the soul of traditional artistry intact. Lightweight, expressive and graceful, this stole becomes an effortless statement piece for both everyday wear and special occasions.
What is Hand Painting on Pashmina?
Hand painting on Pashmina is one of Kashmir’s most intricate and imaginative art forms. Using the fabric as a canvas, skilled artists paint themes inspired by nature from chinar leaves and blossoms to birds and spring motifs with fine brushes and natural dyes.
Each stroke is placed with precision and intention, making no two hand-painted stoles identical. After painting, artisans often enhance the artwork with delicate needle embroidery, bringing together paint and thread in a stunning fusion of texture and detail.
Before embellishment begins, the Pashmina itself undergoes a long handcrafted journey: fibre collection in Ladakh, hand cleaning, painstaking hand-spinning by women artisans, and gentle weaving on traditional wooden looms. Only then is it ready for painting and final detailing.
Pashmina Care
Dry clean your Pashmina to maintain its beauty. If hand washing, use cold water with a mild Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Press out the water gently without twisting.
Dry by rolling the stole between clean towels, then air dry flat away from sunlight.
Store in a cool, dry space. Wrap in muslin and keep neem or cedar for natural protection. With proper care, a pure Pashmina becomes an heirloom.
Before You Receive Your Pashmina
Authentic Pashmina is woven, painted and embroidered entirely by hand. Slight irregularities in weave, paint or needlework are natural characteristics of handcrafted artistry and make your piece truly unique.
Minor colour variations may occur due to different screens. While we aim to present the closest match, the actual shade may vary slightly.
