About the Craft

The making of an authentic Pashmina stole is a journey of dedication and skill. It begins in Ladakh, where the fine down fibre of the Changthangi goat is gathered, cleaned, and sorted. The fibre is then hand spun by women artisans, who spend nearly two months spinning enough yarn for one stole—working long hours each day to preserve the purity and fineness of every thread.
Once spun, the yarn is handwoven by men on wooden looms, a process that gives the stole its feather-light texture and characteristic warmth. The piece is then passed on to specialists for dyeing or finishing. Each stole thus embodies centuries of tradition, patience, and passion—an heirloom that connects modern style with ancient artistry.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for best results. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild Pashmina or Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press to remove excess water. Lay it flat between two towels, roll to absorb moisture, and air dry away from direct sunlight.
Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place wrapped in a muslin cloth with neem or cedar wood. When handled with care, it will remain luxuriously soft and beautiful for generations.
