Product Description
This handwoven Pashmina stole blends the vibrance of red with the depth of black in a smooth, seamless ombre gradient. Adding a distinctive twist, a delicately embroidered bug motif in fine Sozni needlework makes the piece unique, expressive and culturally rooted.
Lightweight, soft and warm, the stole is perfect for breezy evenings or as a standout accessory that instantly sparks interest. Its bold ombre, paired with subtle handcrafted detailing, makes it an elegant and artistic statement.
What is Sozni Embroidery?
Sozni embroidery is a traditional Kashmiri needlework art known for its fine, detailed floral, geometric and abstract motifs. Every stitch is done manually on pure Pashmina using slim needles and delicate threads.
The craft begins with stamping the design, followed by slow, precise stitching.
Because of the detail involved, Sozni work often takes months or years to complete. A single artisan may need four months just to complete an inch-wide border.
Together, Sozni embroidery and Pashmina weaving form two heritage crafts of Kashmir that result in treasured heirloom pieces.
What is Ombre Dyeing?
Ombre dyeing is a refined hand-dyeing technique where colours transition smoothly from one shade to another. In this stole, the gradient between red and black is achieved through careful immersion and hand-dipping.
Artisans manually regulate saturation, depth and balance to avoid harsh lines, ensuring a flawless fade. Pure Pashmina absorbs dyes beautifully, giving the ombre finish a soft, luxurious effect.
Each ombre stole is slightly unique, shaped by the artisan’s eye and creative instinct.
Before dyeing and embroidery, the Pashmina fibre undergoes its own journey: collected in Ladakh from Changthangi goats, hand-cleaned, then handspun by women artisans over weeks, followed by delicate handweaving on wooden looms. Only after this labour of love does the stole reach dyeing and final embellishment.
Pashmina Care
Dry clean your Pashmina for the best maintenance. If hand washing, use cold water and a gentle Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Press out water carefully without twisting.
Dry by rolling the shawl between two clean towels, then air dry flat away from sunlight.
Store in a clean, dry space. Fold neatly, wrap in muslin and place neem or cedar for protection. With proper care, a pure Pashmina lasts for generations.
Before You Receive Your Pashmina
Because authentic Pashmina is woven and embroidered entirely by hand, slight irregularities in weave or embroidery are natural and represent true craftsmanship, not defects. Each piece is one of a kind.
Minor colour variations may occur due to screen differences. While we aim for accuracy, actual shades may appear slightly different on your device.
