Product Description

Infuse the glow of spring sunshine into your wardrobe with this radiant yellow Pashmina shawl, handspun and handwoven by Kashmiri artisans. Its gentle, sunlit hue radiates warmth, optimism, and quiet luxury, making it an exquisite addition to both festive and everyday ensembles. Crafted from the finest Ladakhi Pashmina, every thread is spun by hand on traditional wooden tools, giving the fabric its unmatched softness, lightness, and breathability.
The shawl drapes effortlessly and features delicately twisted fringes on both ends, adding a subtle artisanal finish. Elegant and timeless, it’s a statement of refined taste and enduring heritage — a keepsake that embodies grace, craftsmanship, and sustainable luxury.

About the Craft

Every pure Pashmina shawl is a result of generations of skill and devotion. The process begins in Ladakh, where the down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and sorted by hand. Women artisans then spin the fibre manually a slow, meditative task that can take up to two months for a single piece. Only a few grams of yarn are produced each day, reflecting immense patience and precision.
Once spun, the yarn is woven on traditional wooden looms by master weavers, who transform the delicate threads into fabric light as air and warm as a hug. To achieve the luminous yellow hue, traditional hand-dyeing methods are used in small batches to retain the fibre’s natural sheen and softness. Every stage of creation reflects the artistry and soul of Kashmiri craftsmanship.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the best results. If hand washing, use cold water and mild Pashmina or Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press to remove water. Lay flat between two towels, roll to absorb moisture, and air dry away from sunlight.
Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place wrapped in muslin cloth with neem or cedar wood. With proper care, it will remain soft, radiant, and beautiful for generations.

Before You Receive Your Pashmina

Each Pashmsutra shawl is handcrafted by skilled artisans, making every piece unique. Subtle irregularities in weave or tone are natural marks of authenticity and not flaws.
Slight colour variations may appear due to screen differences. While every effort is made to depict shades accurately, the actual tone may vary slightly in person.

G.I. Certified Handspun Pashmina: Why It Is More Expensive than Regular Pure Pashmina

Pashmina has for long been cherished and celebrated as the pinnacle of luxury. It is a fabric, so fine, warm and timeless that even the highest of royalty adorned it for centuries. But among all the forms nature blesses our wardrobes with, Handspun Pashmina stands apart as the purest, most authentic. Before modern machinery took over, the threads were spun exclusively with bare hands, slowly, delicately, with a deep emotional connection between the artisans and the fibre. Today, just a small percentage of artisans follow this ancient method, making handspun pieces incredibly rare and precious. Yet there are a few dealers of handspun shawls, like Pashmsutra, which sells 100% pure, hand spun shawls online......
