What is Mulberry Silk?
Renowned globally for its finesse and purity, Mulberry Silk is known for its unparalleled sheen, buttery-smooth texture, and strength. Woven on traditional handlooms, its delicate threads are derived from cocoons of mulberry-fed silkworms, resulting in a naturally lustrous and soft fiber.
Mulberry Silk is gentle, hypoallergenic, and breathable, offering unmatched comfort across all seasons. At Pashmsutra, we use only pure handloom Mulberry Silk, with no synthetics or blends, ensuring authenticity, longevity, and heirloom quality.
Process of Bundle Dyeing
The process begins with gathering seasonal flowers and leaves, respectfully sourced from temples after daily offerings. These are arranged on the handwoven Mulberry Silk fabric, which is then rolled into tight bundles and steamed, allowing natural pigments to merge with the fibers.
No two pieces are ever identical the colors, patterns, and imprints depend on nature’s rhythm, transforming each stole into a canvas painted by flowers, rain, and sunlight. Pashmsutra’s process uses only discarded or naturally fallen flora, celebrating sustainability and nature’s integrity.
Mulberry Silk Care
Your Mulberry Silk stole is delicate and requires gentle care. Opt for dry cleaning to preserve its natural dyes and sheen. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the print. Do not use harsh detergents. Iron on a low silk setting or with a protective cloth.
Store the stole in a cool, dry place, wrapped in a muslin cloth. Keep it away from moisture, perfume, and plastic bags, as dampness can alter its natural color and texture.
Before You Receive Your Silk Stole
Your Mulberry Silk stole has been handwoven on a traditional loom. Small irregularities or tone variations are marks of its handmade beauty and natural dyeing process.
Minor color differences may occur due to screen variations. While we aim to present images true to life, the actual shade may vary slightly in person.
