Description:

This handcrafted Pashmina shawl holds two souls in harmony, like dawn and dusk: deep blue, speaking of peaceful skies and boundless depth, and gentle pink, whispering of blossoming flowers and tenderness. Together, the stripes create a graceful rhythm that flows across the fabric like poetry. Each stripe, handwoven by Kashmiri artisans on ancient wooden looms, tells the tale of threads meticulously placed by a master weaver. The interplay of pink and blue is more than just a pattern—it is a conversation of contrasts, where strength meets gentleness, playfulness meets calm.

About the Craft

The art of Pashmina shawl making involves a series of meticulous steps. It begins in Ladakh where the down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and sorted. Women artisans then hand spin the fibre—a painstaking labour of love. To spin enough fibre for one Pashmina shawl, a single artisan takes at least two months, working 8–10 hours daily while producing only a handful each day. Spinning is followed by weaving, where men mount the delicate spun fibre onto wooden handlooms to create luxuriously soft and lightweight Pashmina shawls. These are later handed to specialists for finishing embellishments like dyeing, embroidery, or prints.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the safest care. If hand washing, use cold water and Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press the water out. Roll between two clean towels to remove excess moisture and air dry flat, away from direct sunlight.

Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place. Fold it neatly, wrap it in a muslin cloth, and store it with neem or cedar to protect from moths. With proper care, your Pashmina will last for generations.

Before you receive your Pashmina, Please Note:

Authentic Pashmina is woven and embroidered manually by artisans. Slight irregularities in weave or embroidery are natural signs of handcraft, not flaws. These details make your piece truly one of a kind.

Slight variations in colour may appear due to different screen resolutions. While we strive to present images as true to life as possible, the actual shade may differ slightly on your device.
