Product Description
A gentle blend of Mulberry Silk, botanical colours and craft, this stole carries the charm of nature pressed directly onto silk. Using the bundle dyeing method, maple, fern and eucalyptus motifs appear in their natural silhouettes, settling gracefully over the fabric.
An ombre play of ochre, olive and rosewood flows across the surface, enhanced by the natural sheen of silk. Along the borders, a Shibori dyed pattern adds depth and contrast, making the stole feel thoughtfully composed and heirloom worthy.
What is Mulberry Silk?
Mulberry silk is admired worldwide for its purity, softness and natural shine. The yarn comes from cocoons of mulberry-fed silkworms and is woven on traditional handlooms with care.
It is breathable, hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin, ideal for round the year wear. Pashmsutra uses only pure handloom silk without blends or synthetics, keeping each stole authentic and long lasting.
Process of Bundle Dyeing
Bundle dyeing begins with gathering seasonal flowers and leaves, often respectfully collected from temples after daily offerings. The botanicals are placed on the silk, which is then rolled tightly into bundles.
Steaming allows natural pigments to sink into the fibres, creating unique botanical impressions. No two pieces ever look the same. Each stole becomes a canvas shaped by nature, using only fallen or discarded flora in a mindful, sustainable process.
Mulberry Silk Care
Handle your Mulberry Silk stole with care. Choose gentle dry cleaning. Keep it away from direct sunlight to protect the natural dyes.
Avoid harsh detergents. Iron on a low silk setting or use a protective cloth. Store in a cool, dry place wrapped in muslin. Keep away from moisture and perfume, as dampness may alter its natural colour.
Before You Receive Your Silk Stole
Handloom weaving and botanical dyeing naturally create small irregularities or changes in tone. These are marks of craftsmanship.
Screen differences may cause slight variation in colour, though we aim to present the shades as accurately as possible.
