Product Description
Blushing in gentle tones of rosewood and clay, this handloom-made eco-printed Eri Silk stole captures the quiet artistry of nature. The base is imprinted with maple leaves that reveal fine veins and organic silhouettes, reflecting autumn’s calm elegance. Each motif is unique, crafted through sustainable dyeing and eco-printing methods, reminiscent of wild forests captured over soft, breathable Eri Silk.
Lightweight, cozy, and exquisite, this stole celebrates harmony between nature’s transience and artisanal permanence, making it a refined companion for all seasons.
What is Eri Silk?
Often called Ahimsa Silk (Ahimsa means non-violent) or Peace Silk, Eri Silk is India’s most ethical and skin friendly silk. Unlike traditional silk, it is spun from open-ended cocoons after the moth naturally emerges, making it cruelty free and ideal for vegans.
Soft, light, and breathable, Eri Silk feels nurturing against the skin. Known for its skin healing and medicinal properties, it regulates temperature, absorbs moisture, and is suitable for sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
At Pashmsutra, we use only pure handloom Eri Silk, ensuring that every stole is authentic, sustainable, cruelty free, and crafted without artificial or chemical dyes.
Process of Bundle Dyeing
The process of bundle dyeing begins with gathering seasonal flowers and leaves, respectfully sourced from temples after daily offerings. These are thoughtfully placed on handwoven Eri Silk scarves and stoles, then rolled into tight bundles and steamed to allow natural pigments to seep into the fibers.
No two pieces are ever the same. The colors, shapes, and imprints depend entirely on nature’s rhythm, making each stole a living artwork painted by flowers, rain, and sunlight. At Pashmsutra, we use only discarded or naturally fallen flora, honoring sustainability and ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Eri Silk Care
Your Eri Silk stole is a delicate creation and should be handled with care. For the first few washes, opt for dry cleaning to preserve the natural dyes. If washing at home, use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not soak for long hours or wring the fabric. Gently press to remove excess water and dry in shade. Avoid direct sunlight. Iron on a low or medium setting and store in a muslin or cotton bag.
Before You Receive Your Silk Stole
Your Eri Silk stole has been handcrafted on a traditional handloom. Small irregularities or tone variations are natural marks of its handmade beauty and dyeing process.
Minor color differences may appear due to screen resolution. While we strive to present images as true to life as possible, the actual shade may vary slightly in person.
