Product Description

Soft as a whisper and graceful as spring blossoms, this handloom Eri silk stole captures the poetry of nature. Created through the ancient technique of bundle dyeing, it carries delicate imprints of seasonal flowers whose pigments blend seamlessly into the silk base. Shades of blush pink gently merge into lilac, creating an ombre effect that exudes quiet sophistication.
Renowned for its featherlight warmth and natural sheen, Eri silk feels soothing on the skin and pairs effortlessly with both traditional and contemporary outfits. Drape it loosely over your shoulders for a soft evening glow or style it neatly with formal wear to add a refined touch to your everyday elegance.

What is Eri Silk?

Also known as Ahimsa or Peace Silk, Eri Silk is India’s most ethical and skin-friendly silk. Unlike conventional silk, it is spun from open-ended cocoons after the moth naturally emerges, making it cruelty free and vegan. Its airy texture and natural insulation make it ideal for all seasons.
Eri silk is also known for its skin-calming qualities, moisture absorption, and breathability, making it suitable even for sensitive skin. At Pashmsutra, each stole is woven purely from handloom Eri silk, free from chemicals and synthetic dyes—a thoughtful blend of comfort, sustainability, and elegance.

Process of Bundle Dyeing

Bundle dyeing begins with collecting seasonal flowers and leaves, often sourced respectfully from temple offerings or naturally fallen flora. These are carefully placed on handwoven Eri silk before being tightly rolled and steamed for hours, allowing natural pigments to infuse into the fibers.
Each stole becomes a living work of art—no two pieces are alike. The hues, shapes, and imprints depend entirely on nature’s touch. This slow, eco-conscious process ensures nothing is wasted while celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the rhythm of nature.

Eri Silk Care

Handle your Eri silk stole with care. For the first few washes, opt for dry cleaning to maintain color integrity. If washing at home, use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not soak, wring, or rub. Gently press to remove excess water and dry in shade. Iron on a low to medium setting and store in a muslin or cotton bag to preserve its softness.

Before You Receive Your Silk Stole

Each Eri silk stole is handwoven and naturally dyed, making every piece unique. Slight irregularities or tone variations reflect its handmade character and the organic dyeing process.
Minor color differences may appear due to screen variations. While we aim for accuracy, the actual shade may differ slightly in person.
