Description

Shades of black, white, and grey blend harmoniously in this timeless checkered Pashmina stole, embodying both subtle luxury and classic style. Its natural drape and smooth texture make it a wardrobe essential for those who value elegance without excess. Each stole begins with the painstaking hand-spinning of fine Pashmina fibres, followed by weaving on traditional Kashmiri looms. Skilled artisans create the balanced check design with precision, ensuring every line aligns and every shade merges seamlessly. The process is deliberate and slow, steeped in sustainable craft traditions, without synthetic shortcuts.

About the Craft

The art of Pashmina making involves a series of meticulous steps. It begins in Ladakh where the down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and sorted. Women artisans then hand spin the fibre—a labour of love that requires immense patience. To spin enough fibre for one stole, a single artisan takes at least two months, working 8–10 hours daily while producing only a handful per day. Spinning is followed by weaving, where men mount the delicate spun fibre onto wooden handlooms to create soft and lightweight Pashmina stoles. These are later passed to specialists for finishing embellishments like dyeing, embroidery, or prints.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the safest care. If hand washing, use cold water and Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press the water out. Roll between two clean towels to remove excess moisture and air dry flat, away from direct sunlight.

Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place. Fold it neatly, wrap it in a muslin cloth, and store it with neem or cedar to protect from moths. With proper care, your Pashmina will last for generations.

Before you receive your Pashmina, Please Note:

Authentic Pashmina is woven and embroidered manually by artisans. Slight irregularities in weave or embroidery are natural signs of handcraft, not flaws. These details make your piece truly one of a kind.

Slight variations in colour may appear due to different screen resolutions. While we strive to present images as true to life as possible, the actual shade may differ slightly on your device.
