Product Description

Simple yet graceful, this Eri silk stole celebrates the harmony between nature and craftsmanship through the ancient art of eco printing. It is organically dyed using the bundle dyeing technique, where seasonal flowers and foliage are carefully pressed and steamed into the fabric to release natural pigments. The result is a captivating pattern of marigold flowers and eucalyptus leaves delicately imprinted on silk.
Lightweight and fluid, this stole drapes beautifully and feels soothing against the skin. Ideal for everyday styling or formal wear, it can be wrapped around your shoulders or paired with elegant workwear. Every motif holds a story of nature and human hands working together to create art with purpose and patience.

What is Eri Silk?

Eri Silk, also known as Ahimsa or Peace Silk, is India’s most ethical and skin-friendly silk. Unlike traditional silk, it is produced from open-ended cocoons after the moth has naturally emerged, making it cruelty free and vegan friendly.
Soft, breathable, and nurturing to the touch, Eri silk is known for its ability to regulate temperature, absorb moisture, and soothe sensitive skin. At Pashmsutra, only pure handloom Eri Silk is used free from artificial dyes and chemicals. Each piece reflects sustainable luxury, ethical craftsmanship, and lasting comfort.

Process of Bundle Dyeing

The art of bundle dyeing begins with gathering seasonal flowers and leaves, often sourced from temple offerings or naturally fallen flora. Each element is arranged on handwoven Eri Silk, which is then tightly rolled and steamed. During this process, the natural pigments merge into the silk fibers, leaving behind intricate and unpredictable floral imprints.
No two stoles are ever the same the tones and shapes depend entirely on nature’s rhythm. Each stole becomes a living artwork, painted with petals, sunlight, and rain. The process honours sustainability and the balance of working gently with nature, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Eri Silk Care

Your Eri silk stole is delicate and should be treated with care. For the first few washes, choose dry cleaning to preserve its natural colors. If washing at home, use cold water and mild detergent. Do not soak or wring. Gently press to remove excess water and air dry in shade. Iron on a low or medium setting and store in a muslin or cotton bag.

Every Eri Silk Stole is handmade on a handloom, and slight irregularities or tonal variations are natural signs of its handcrafted origin. These nuances add character and authenticity to each piece.
