Product Description
Elegantly understated, this handwoven Pashmina shawl celebrates the perfect union of calm grey and warm peach. The gentle contrast of tones adds depth and grace, bringing a quiet sophistication that works beautifully across occasions. Its stripes lend a touch of modern charm, while the softness and warmth of pure Ladakhi Pashmina ensure a cocoon of comfort.
Meticulously woven by Kashmiri artisans, each thread reflects hours of dedication and skill passed down through generations. Lightweight, breathable, and timeless, this shawl complements both traditional and contemporary styles, making it a refined essential for all seasons.
About the Craft
The creation of each Pashmina shawl begins in the Himalayan region of Ladakh, where the fine down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and hand sorted. Women artisans spin this fibre into delicate yarn using traditional wooden yinders a slow, intricate process that can take nearly two months for a single piece.
The spun yarn is then handwoven by master craftsmen on wooden looms, transforming it into fabric that is both feather-light and luxuriously warm. Each weave, stripe, and texture is a testament to their precision and artistry. Once woven, the shawl is carefully finished through gentle dyeing or detailing, preserving its natural softness and sheen.
Pashmina Care
Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the safest care. If hand washing, use cold water and mild Pashmina or Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press to remove excess water. Lay flat between two towels, roll to absorb moisture, and air dry away from sunlight.
Store your Pashmina in a clean, dry place wrapped in muslin cloth with neem or cedar wood. With thoughtful care, it will stay soft, elegant, and ageless for years to come.
Before You Receive Your Pashmina
Each Pashmsutra shawl is handcrafted by artisans, making every piece unique. Slight irregularities in weave or tone are natural marks of authenticity that celebrate its handmade origin.
Minor colour variations may occur due to screen settings. While every effort is made to display shades accurately, the actual tone may appear slightly different in person.
