Product Description
Drenched in the soft glow of nature’s own colors, this ethereal Eri Silk stole is designed to enrich your winter and fall wardrobe. Organically dyed using the bundle dyeing technique, it features real cassia and marigold leaf motifs whose imprints seep naturally into the fabric. The result is a graceful stole with a sunlit base hosting golden impressions of leaves on an earthy canvas.
The pure Eri Silk weave adds a subtle sophistication, making it perfect to wrap around your shoulders for daytime meetups or elegant evening gatherings.
What is Eri Silk?
Often called Ahimsa Silk (Ahimsa means non-violent) or Peace Silk, Eri Silk is India’s most ethical and skin friendly silk. Unlike traditional silk, it is spun from open-ended cocoons after the moth has naturally emerged, making it cruelty free and ideal for vegans.
The texture is light, breathable, and nurturing on the skin. Known for its skin healing and medicinal properties, Eri Silk helps regulate temperature, absorbs moisture, and is often recommended for those with skin sensitivities or allergies.
At Pashmsutra, we use only pure handloom Eri Silk — authentic, sustainable, cruelty free, and crafted without any artificial or chemical dyes.
Process of Bundle Dyeing
The process of bundle dyeing begins with collecting seasonal flowers and leaves, respectfully sourced from temples after daily offerings. These are placed carefully on handwoven Eri Silk stoles and scarves, then rolled into tight bundles and steamed, allowing natural pigments to seep into the fibers.
No two pieces are ever the same. The colors, shapes, and imprints depend on nature’s rhythm, making each stole a one-of-a-kind artwork painted by flowers, rain, and sunlight. At Pashmsutra, we use only discarded or naturally fallen flora, celebrating sustainability and ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Eri Silk Care
Your Eri Silk stole is a delicate creation and should be handled with care. For the first few washes, opt for dry cleaning to preserve its natural dyes. If washing at home, use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not soak for long hours, wring, or twist the fabric. Gently press to remove excess water and dry in shade. Avoid direct sunlight. Iron on a low or medium setting and store in a breathable muslin or cotton bag.
Before You Receive Your Silk Stole
Each Eri Silk stole is handcrafted on a handloom. Small irregularities or tone variations are marks of its handmade beauty and natural dye process.
Minor color differences may appear due to screen settings. While we strive to present images as true to life as possible, the actual shade may vary slightly in person.
