Simple yet appealing, this Eri silk stole captures the love of nature by the ancient art of eco printing. The stole has been organically dyed using the bundle dyeing technique, where seasonal flowers and foliage are gently pressed and steamed into the fabric to release natural pigment. The result is an alluring display of flower patterns immortalized on silk.
Lightweight and breezy, this Eri silk stole is graceful and smooth in its movement, perfect for everyday wear as well as formal occasions. You can style it around your shoulders on a crisp morning or tie around with business suits. Each motif tells a story, of hand weaving delicate silk threads and human hands working in harmony.

What is Eri Silk
Often called Ahimsa Silk (Ahimsa means non-violent), or Peace silk, Eri silk is India's most ethical and skin friendly silk. Unlike traditional silk, it is spun from an open ended cocoon after the moth has naturally emerged, making it cruelty free, ideal for vegans. The texture is light and breathable and feels gentle and nurturing against the skin
Known for its skin healing and medicinal properties, Eri Silk helps regulate temperature, absorbs moisture and is often recommended to those with skin allergies or sensitive skin. At Pashmsutra, we only use pure handloom Eri Silk. Hence, each stole is authentic, sustainable, cruelty free, free from artificial and chemical dyes, and beautifully crafted.

Process of Bundle Dyeing
The process of bundle dyeing is a complicated one and starts with gathering seasonal flowers and leaves. We source ours respectfully from temples after daily offerings. These flowers and leaves are placed carefully on handwoven Eri Silk scarves and stoles and the fabric is rolled into tight bundles. This bundle is later steamed to allow the natural pigments to seep into the fabric.
No two pieces are ever the same, the colours, shapes and imprints depend on nature's whim. Each stole is a canvas, painted by flowers, rain, sunlight, just nature itself. We use only discarded or naturally fallen flowers, our process honours sustainability and the ethical essence of dealing with nature, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Eri Silk Care
Your Eri silk Stole is a delicate creation and has to be handled with the same gentleness. For a first few washes, opt for dry cleaning to preserve the natural colours. If washing at home, use cold water and a mild detergent. Do not soak for long hours. Do not wring, rub or twist the stole. Gently press to remove excess water. Keep away from direct sunlight. Iron at a low or medium setting. Store in a muslin or cotton bag.

Before you receive your Silk Stole, Please Note:
Your Eri Silk Stole has been prepared on a handloom. Small irregularities or light variations in tone are a mark of its handcrafted beauty and natural dyeing process. Additionally, variations in colour may appear due to different screen resolutions. While we strive to present images as true to life as possible, the actual shade may look slightly different on your device. We appreciate your understanding.
