Description

Soft as a whisper, this handwoven pink Pashmina muffler celebrates the timeless grace of Kashmiri craftsmanship. Tiny hand-embroidered floral butis, each stitched with precision by skilled artisans, gently adorn the delicate baby-pink base. The refined detailing makes it perfect for those who admire subtle artistry and understated elegance. Its simplicity and versatility allow it to pair effortlessly with both everyday wear and formal attire, making it a piece that feels feminine, graceful, and forever in style.

About the Craft

Sozni embroidery is one of Kashmir’s most intricate art forms, defined by fine needlework of floral, abstract, or geometric motifs. Done entirely by hand with thin needles and delicate threads, this meticulous craft can take months or even years to complete. Just a one-inch border may require up to four months of patient embroidery. The designs are first stamped onto the Pashmina, after which artisans carefully embroider over them with thoughtfully chosen colours.

The journey of Pashmina begins in Ladakh, where the fine undercoat of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and sorted. Women artisans then hand-spin the fibre, a process so labor-intensive that spinning enough for a single muffler takes nearly a month. The yarn is mounted on wooden looms and woven by men into luxuriously soft fabric, which is then passed to master embroiderers for final embellishment.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your Pashmina. If hand washing, use cold water and a Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press water out. Roll in clean towels and air dry flat, away from sunlight.

Store folded in a muslin cloth with neem or cedar to protect from moths. With proper care, your Pashmina will last for generations.

Before you receive your Pashmina, Please Note:

Every authentic Pashmina is handwoven and embroidered, so slight irregularities in weave or embroidery are natural signs of craftsmanship, not defects. Colour may also vary slightly depending on screen settings.
