Plush, calming and effortlessly elegant, this ombre Pashmina shawl moves with a graceful softness that feels almost weightless. The gradient shifts from a tender blush pink into a deeper rose tone, capturing the warmth of dawn and the quietude of dusk in a single fluid palette. Hand dyed by Kashmir’s most skilled artisans, each hue is allowed to gently bloom across the gossamer Pashmina base. Handwoven from the finest Ladakhi Pashmina, the shawl feels like the first warm light of a summer morning. With its fluid drape and natural sheen, it brings refined beauty to festive attire and everyday looks alike. A tribute to centuries of craftsmanship, this ombre shawl blends gentle hands, ancient traditions and the whisper-soft warmth that defines timeless femininity.
About the Craft
Ombre dyeing is a meticulous artistic technique where pure Pashmina is hand dyed to achieve a seamless gradient. Through controlled immersion and patient hand-dipping, one colour melts into the next without sharp edges, creating a breathtaking transition of tones. Unlike machine processes, ombre on Pashmina relies entirely on the artisan’s trained eye and steady hands to regulate depth, saturation and balance. Pashmina’s delicate fibre absorbs dye beautifully, turning each shawl into a unique visual melody.
No two pieces are identical — every ombre shawl reflects the artisan’s personal artistry.
The making of Pashmina begins in Ladakh, where the down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned and sorted. Women artisans hand spin the fibre — a laborious process taking nearly two months for a single shawl, with only small amounts spun each day. The spun yarn is then woven on traditional wooden looms by skilled craftsmen, resulting in the featherlight, warm Pashmina for which Kashmir is renowned. After weaving, specialists take over for dyeing, finishing or embellishment.
Pashmina Care
Always dry clean your pure Pashmina. If hand washing, use cold water and Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist. Instead, press the water out gently by placing it between clean towels and rolling them. Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight. Do not hang.
Store your Pashmina wrapped in muslin cloth with neem or cedar to keep it safe from moths. With mindful care, it will last for generations.
Before You Receive Your Pashmina, Please Note
Authentic Pashmina is fully handcrafted. Slight irregularities in weave or dye reflect the artisan’s handwork — these are not flaws but marks of authenticity, making each piece one of a kind.
Minor colour variations may occur due to screen differences. While we aim to present colours accurately, the actual shade may appear slightly different on your device.
