Description

Deep black, gentle green, and rich wine come together in a dramatic handwoven ikkat Pashmina stole that balances tradition with elegance. Alternating stripes and blurred ikkat borders create a modern rhythm while preserving the timeless essence of Kashmiri weaving. Handcrafted from the finest Ladakhi Pashmina, it feels feather-light yet wraps the wearer in warmth. With its delicate touch and airy drape, this stole is an all-season essential.

About the Craft

Ikat is one of the oldest and most intricate dyeing traditions, known for its blurred, captivating motifs. Unlike regular weaving, ikat yarns are resist-dyed before weaving. Each thread is tied and coloured in precise sections, with the patterns emerging only when placed on the loom. Even the smallest misalignment alters the design, demanding accuracy, vision, and patience. The beauty of ikat lies in its soulful imperfections, each motif carrying the artisan’s unique handwork.

The journey of Pashmina begins in Ladakh, where the down fibre of the Changthangi goat is collected, cleaned, and sorted. Women hand-spin this fibre over months, producing only small quantities each day. Men then weave it on wooden handlooms, crafting luxuriously soft, lightweight stoles. These are later finished with dyeing, embroidery, or prints.

Pashmina Care

Always dry clean your pure Pashmina for the safest care. If hand washing, use cold water and Pashmina/Cashmere shampoo. Do not wring or twist; gently press out water. Roll in clean towels to absorb moisture and air dry flat, away from sunlight.

Store folded in a muslin cloth with neem or cedar to protect from moths. With care, your Pashmina will last for generations.

Before you receive your Pashmina, Please Note:

Authentic Pashmina is entirely handcrafted. Irregularities in weave or embroidery are not flaws but marks of authenticity, making each piece unique. Colours may vary slightly due to screen resolutions. We strive to keep images true to life, but shades may differ slightly on your device.
